I have been trying to load some photos into the gallery but am having some issues with my uploads spontaneously aborting! If I can’t get them working soon, I may try to temporarily load the photos on to another site so everyone can see them.

Playing catch up…
Lately the posts I have made have just been things happening at the moment and I haven’t really kept up with things we have been doing, so I thought I would do one post to catch up the past several months.
October 2006 – Lanie went to the Texas State Fair this year with Mommy, Papa King, and Mormor. Daddy had to work and couldn’t make it this year. Later in the month, we went to visit a local pumpkin patch with our friends, the Harrells (Cherly, Chris and Rachel). Lanie had a blast seeing all of the pumpkins and riding in the wagon. At the end of the month, we had a visit from Papa Pat, and celebrated Halloween with him here. Lanie was the Little Mermaid for Halloween, and she went trick or treating with her friend Rachel, who was Cinderella. A lot of candy was received and quickly hidden and is still being rationed out now in February!
November 2006 – This was a pretty quiet month for us. We celebrated Thanksgiving in our new home with Mormor, Papa, and Kikishell.
December 2006 – Always a busy time with the holidays, this month was no different. Early in the month we had a brief but wonderful visit with our friends Rylee and Cassy who were visiting from Kuwait. It was nice to see them again, even if for just a short time. We celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas morning in our new home. Lanie was on major sensory overload when she was opening presents on Christmas Eve, so we held some over to be opened on Christmas Day along with all of the presents she got from Santa! If you look at the pictures, you can see that Lanie had a very bountiful Christmas!
January 2007 – We took a fun family trip with the Harrells to Taos New Mexico. We had a great time snowmobiling and playing in the snow. Lanie loved the snow and still asks if she can go play in the snow. There are some great pictures from the trip, including some of Lanie asleep on the snowmobile! Later in the month, I took Lanie to the Stock Show with the Harrells. She went on her first pony ride! She loved it, and loved seeing the animals and riding the rides. We will definitely have to make visits to the snow and stock show annual events!
February 2007 – As you can tell from the previous post, much of this month has been spent dealing with Lanie being sick. Hopefully, she will get through it soon and we can get back to doing all kinds of fun things with her!
That’s at least a brief overview of what we have been up to, and I will be working on getting the rest of the pictures up so you can see it all too!
Christmas portraits
I finally posted our Christmas portraits in the gallery. I have been so busy with getting our house ready to sell that I haven’t sent out a single picture or any of our Christmas cards! They will all get sent soon I hope, now that the house is listed and things aren’t quite as hectic.
I also will try to get more of her other pictures posted. I had a problem with my laptop (it spontaneously caught on fire New Year’s Eve), and many of my photos are on that hard drive that we are still trying to see if the data can be recovered. Hopefully we will be able to save everything and get them posted soon. Until then I will try to post some of what has been taken since then.

So much to do… so little time!
It seems like the last 5 weeks have gone by so fast and now we are trying to fit in the rest of the things we kept saying we were going to do while we are here. This past Tuesday, we spent a good part of the day driving around on some of the islands and went to the top of a lighthouse on Alnes. We saw a church dating back to the 1100s on Giske, and got to take a lot of pictures of Aalesund from various places. On Wednesday, Alana and I went with Jessica and Anna on a trip on a Viking Ship! That was a lot of fun and Alana really seemed to enjoy being out on the water. We’ve been to the beach a few times and Lanie loves being in the water. I have a lot of new pictures to post and am going to try to get as many as I can up tonight. The pictures from the rest of our trip will have to wait until I get home since this will probably be my last chance to get my computer online.
Enjoy the new pictures which start in the July 2, 2005 folder.
Alana has grown so much on this trip. I just continue to be amazed by her, as I am sure everyone else is! When we left on our trip, I had just started teaching Lanie to show us where her nose is. Now she can show you where her nose, eyes, mouth, ears, hair, belly, feet, and fingers are! She knows that a hairbrush goes in her hair and a toothbrush goes in her mouth. We ask her to get things and she goes and actually gets the right thing! She even understands things we tell her in Norwegian. When I say “Mama faa nussen?” (Mommy get a kiss?), she will open her mouth to give me kiss! (of course, only when she wants to!) Isn’t she amazing!

Picture Update
OK, so I am pretty much caught up through this mornings pictures right now. I didn’t put up every picture I have taken, but all of the ones with the little cutie pie in them anyway. Hope you all enjoy them!

New Pictures
I have been working on getting Alana’s picture gallery updated and hopefully will have that done tonight. I noticed when I was putting up the Christmas pictures that we didn’t have any of Alana opening any gifts. Thinking back, I don’t think any were taken because we decided to videotape and I forgot to make sure someone also took some still pictures. I can tell you Alana wasn’t really all that interested in opening presents, but really liked the paper and boxes. We still have the box her stuffed polar bear came in and I think she plays with the box more than the bear!
Hope everyone enjoys all of the new pictures!

9 Month Update
Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything to the website, just been pretty busy around here.
Alana is doing great and is just getting so big!. She had her 9 month check up on January 14th. She weighed 20 lbs, 3 ounces, which was in the 75th percentile for weight. She was 29 1/4 inches long, which was in the 90th percentile, and her head circumference was 18 1/2 inches which was above the 95th percentile. She didn’t have to have any shots this time, but they did have to do some bloodwork which turned out fine. They just had us start her on a multivitamin with iron because her iron came up a little on the low side, but nothing to worry about.
Alana has started doing so many new things! She started crawling earlier this month and is getting into everything. In the past week she has started pulling herself up on her knees and now completely up to stand! We know it won’t be long for her to start walking. Last Sunday, she started waving goodbye, which is just so cute! Now she waves goodbye to me in the morning when I leave for work, which both makes me smile and makes me sad to leave.
So, I think Alana said her first word, but David isn’t convinced. She has been babbling for quite some time, saying wawa and baba, among other things, but this past Wednesday we were all out at my parents house, and David was holding Alana and my parents and I all heard her say “Daddy.” I thought it was pretty clear, but David thinks it was just more babbling.
As I said earlier, we have been pretty busy around here. The holidays were pretty hectic, but we had a good time. David’s Dad and his wife, Patti, came out from California for Christmas to celebrate Alana’s first Christmas with us. It was so nice to have them here and Alana enjoyed spending time with her Papa and Yaya. We had some snow the week of Christmas, so Alana’s first Christmas was a white one. We had Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas morning here at our house, and then had Christmas Day dinner at my parents home in Haslet. I finally managed to get out our holiday cards about half way into January, which I just have to believe is better late than never, right?
David started his new job with ACS, and it looks like he is going to be travelling a bit, so I know I will be posting more when he is out of town so he can see his little “Stinky Pants” when he is away. I have tried to get him to call Alana something else, anything else, but the name seems to have stuck for now at least.
I hope all is well with everyone else, and I am going to try to get Alana’s pictures updated and try to put news on here more than once every 3 months!
Take Care!

4 month check up
I forgot to mention in my last post that Alana had her 4 month check up on August 12th. She had her second round of immunizations and the doctor said she seemed to be doing very well. She weighed 15 pounds, 6 ounces which is in the 75th-90th percentile (he said closer to the 90th). She was 25 inches long which is in the 75th percentile, and her head circumference was 16.75 inches which is still in the 90-95th percentile. Her body seems to be catching up to her head! All in all it was a good visit, except for the shots, of which Alana very vocally expressed her dislike. But, she didn’t seem to have any adverse reactions and was over her initial anger over them very quickly. She has her next check-up on October 12, but I am hoping to find someplace to get her weighed this weekend to see what she is up to now. I am guessing somewhere around 17 pounds.
There are more pictures up now for everyone to see. Enjoy!

Update
Well. it has been a long time since I have posted anything and so I have an awful lot to update. Alana is doing wonderful and she is just so much fun! She has been rolling over consistently for the last week or so, so we have to keep a really watchful eye on her. She pushes herself up on her arms and we are pretty sure she will start trying to crawl here soon. We started her on cereal a couple weeks ago, and that is going well. So far, she has gotten rice cereal and oatmeal, but we will be starting veggies and fruits here shortly.
We went to California for a visit the first week of August. It was nice to see everyone and we are glad everyone got time to spend with Alana.
I have a ton of pictures to get up in the picture gallery, and hope to get most of them done today or tomorrow since we are off for Labor Day. I also have the link to Alana’s 4 month pictures:

I still haven’t received those pictures back from Sears due to some delay, and she is going in for her 5 month pictures next Sunday!
I am sure I will think of more to post soon, but that’s it for now.

Pictures and more pictures…
I just uploaded pictures from the past couple weeks including those from Grandpa Pat’s visit. You can tell by the pictures that she had a good time with Grandpa!
We also took Alana’s two month pictures today at Sears and here is the web address to see those pictures:

I especially like the one of her and her daddy, and those taken of her with the sunflowers. She smiled so big for the camera! I hope you enjoy them!
I also added a folder with the pictures from the baby shower for anyone who wants to see them. It is the very last folder in the gallery.
I hope everyone enjoys all of the new pictures. I know I enjoy taking them!
