4 month check up

I forgot to mention in my last post that Alana had her 4 month check up on August 12th. She had her second round of immunizations and the doctor said she seemed to be doing very well. She weighed 15 pounds, 6 ounces which is in the 75th-90th percentile (he said closer to the 90th). She was 25 inches long which is in the 75th percentile, and her head circumference was 16.75 inches which is still in the 90-95th percentile. Her body seems to be catching up to her head! All in all it was a good visit, except for the shots, of which Alana very vocally expressed her dislike. But, she didn’t seem to have any adverse reactions and was over her initial anger over them very quickly. She has her next check-up on October 12, but I am hoping to find someplace to get her weighed this weekend to see what she is up to now. I am guessing somewhere around 17 pounds.

There are more pictures up now for everyone to see. Enjoy!

Update

Well. it has been a long time since I have posted anything and so I have an awful lot to update. Alana is doing wonderful and she is just so much fun! She has been rolling over consistently for the last week or so, so we have to keep a really watchful eye on her. She pushes herself up on her arms and we are pretty sure she will start trying to crawl here soon. We started her on cereal a couple weeks ago, and that is going well. So far, she has gotten rice cereal and oatmeal, but we will be starting veggies and fruits here shortly.

We went to California for a visit the first week of August. It was nice to see everyone and we are glad everyone got time to spend with Alana.

I have a ton of pictures to get up in the picture gallery, and hope to get most of them done today or tomorrow since we are off for Labor Day. I also have the link to Alana’s 4 month pictures:

I still haven’t received those pictures back from Sears due to some delay, and she is going in for her 5 month pictures next Sunday!

I am sure I will think of more to post soon, but that’s it for now.

3 months old!

Well, today Alana is three months old! We stopped by her doctor’s office and she weighed 13 pounds, 6 ounces. I’m going to have to find a tape measure to figure out how long she is. We also took pictures again today and here is the link so that everyone can see them. She smiled so big and you can really see her happy personality coming through.

Fourth of July

We didn’t do a whole lot for 4th of July, but did have a busy weekend. David did a wonderful job getting our yard looking nice and trimming all of the trees around the house. I will have to take some pictures so everyone can see how the house is looking these days. David has done a lot of work around here and it is looking really nice.

We had some friends over to BBQ on the 4th and played games with them that evening. We had planned to go and watch the fireworks display here in Trophy Club but Alana was fast asleep by about 8 o’clock so we just stayed in and I caught a glimpse of them from our backyard.

David is in California this week for training. He is in Monterey so I am pretty jealous, and Alana and I are missing him a lot. I am going to try to get some new pictures of Alana up through the week so keep checking back for new pictures!

Two months check-up

I know it’s been a while since I have updated everyone so I thought I would try and catch everyone up on things around here.

Alana had her 2 month check up on the 14th and she is doing very well. She weighed 11 pounds, 10 ounces, measured 22.5 inches long and her head circumference was 15.75 inches. These measurements put her in the 75th percentile for weight, 50th percentile for height, and 90-95th percentile for head circumference (doctor said there must be a big brain in there!). She got her first set of 4 shots and was none too pleased about that but she got over it quickly and didn’t have any lasting side effects. She just gets cuter every day and is just a joy to be around. She has been cooing a lot and makes the cutest noises. She has gotten really good with holding her head up, and just last Friday held it up for several minutes. She is also pushing herself up on her arms and I know it won’t be long before she is rolling herself over. I can’t believe how fast it all goes by.

We celebrated David’s first Father’s Day with just the three of us hanging out together all day. Alana and I got him a new Weber charcoal grill and a special key chain for Father’s Day and he seems to be enjoying them.

I am putting up the most recent pictures in the gallery for everyone to enjoy!

Grandpa Pat’s first visit

We had a great time last week when Grandpa Pat came to visit Alana for the first time. Alana clearly loves her Grandpa and you can tell the feeling is mutual. I just wish the visit could have been longer.

Pat met David in Utah on Friday, June 4 to pick up a Jeep Cherokee David and I were purchasing. David and Pat then drove it down here to Texas, making it home Sunday evening. Pat was able to stay with us only until Tuesday afternoon so we tried to make sure he got as much time with Lanie as possible. She sure enjoyed spending time on Grandpa’s lap!

Hopefully, our next visit will be soon and will be longer!

Pictures and more pictures…

I just uploaded pictures from the past couple weeks including those from Grandpa Pat’s visit. You can tell by the pictures that she had a good time with Grandpa!

We also took Alana’s two month pictures today at Sears and here is the web address to see those pictures:

I especially like the one of her and her daddy, and those taken of her with the sunflowers. She smiled so big for the camera! I hope you enjoy them!

I also added a folder with the pictures from the baby shower for anyone who wants to see them. It is the very last folder in the gallery.

I hope everyone enjoys all of the new pictures. I know I enjoy taking them!

Update.. and more pictures, of course!

Well, this week has been kind of hard on me, but Alana has made it through just as happy as can be. I had to go back to work for the last week of school after my maternity leave ended. I really hated leaving her, but knew she was in the best hands, those of her mormor (my mother, mormor is Norwegian for mother’s mother). The week actually went by pretty quickly and Lanie didn’t seem too bothered by my absence. I think it bothered me more than her. I’m just glad it’s over and I get to spend the whole summer at home with her! That has to be the best thing about being a teacher!

As for Alana, she has been smiling up a storm. She gets these huge whole face smiles and her eyes just light up even more than usual. I caught one on film, but she’s not one for doing things on command, and really the picture just doesn’t even do her justice! I know I am prejudiced, but I think we have the cutest. most adorable baby in the whole world!

I posted some new photos in the “I’m six weeks old!’ folder so I hope you will all check them out. I love the comments everyone is leaving and hope you will continue to do so!
